On 5/4/17 my life has changed today for the better. I will never know what it is to be hungry, to be alone, or to be without love. I will have someone that cares for me for the rest of my life no matter what!

My name is Gunnar and this is my story...
I'm a Belgian Malinois who's just over a year and a half, sadly I don't remember much as a lot has gone on in my life in the last four months. My previous owners gave up on me and abandoned me over four months ago when they moved from the only house I'd known. I was confused, I went back to my house every day and night looking for my family but they were nowhere to be seen. New people moved in shortly after, they had a dog that became my buddy. The new owners heard me cry at night but I was too afraid to approach them. Every time they would open their door I would run. A rescue friend came to visit me promptly at 5:15pm each day and fed me a nice meal. I started to trust her more and more. I appreciated her a lot and would bring her random items, like the neighbors UPS packages etc. She returned them to the rightful owners but she bought me some toys so I wouldn't confuse them. I thought it was ok to give her these gifts but now I understand. Some neighbor friends also rallied together to feed me including several attempts to catch me but I was too afraid. I noticed the new owners started to keep their porch door open for me in case I wanted to come in. Finally on May 4th I decided it was time to go in and stay. The new owners, neighbors and rescue friend were overjoyed. Now that I was safe I needed a furrever home! Thankfully All For One Pet Rescue took me into their foster program a few days later. I'm still very scared but with some time and patience I will start to my trust my new foster family.

Just an update to tell you how I'm doing. I went for a nice long walk last night, 4 miles to be exact. It was a great walk, at first I was really nervous but my momma kept reassuring me that I'd be fine and I was. Cause I'm here writing this to you now. This walk was different though as we left our community and walked by a busy road with lots of cars and motorcycle thingies! I don't care for those 'motorcycle thingies' so much as they make a lot of noise. Momma even let me dip my feet in a big puddle of water along the way, I do like water. We were almost home and then it poured, as momma says 'the heavens opened'. It was so much fun, momma and I running in the rain and laughing. ☔️ This morning momma let me off the leash in the backyard for the first time, her eyes were on me every second. I heard her say out loud that she was nervous in case I jumped over the fenced or crawled out under it somehow. I was like, I'm not going anywhere I'm just getting settled (well until my perfect furrever homes comes along) but also it's a big fence lol!
It was a good time!
I also tried bananas for the first time today, all I can say is I don't like em.
But thankfully my foster sister does.
Ok friends, back to nap time.
Byeeeee. Talk soon! ☎️
